
Roundtable Discussion on "The Role of Youth in Ensuring the Rule of Law" Successfully Held at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan
Today, a significant roundtable discussion on "The Role of Youth in Ensuring the Rule of Law" took place at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, organized by the UNESCO Chair in Comparative Study of World Religions. The event gathered students, faculty members, and legal experts to explore the vital role of youth in upholding justice, legal integrity, and societal development.
Keynote Speaker: Aliya Yunusova
The session featured Aliya Yunusova, a distinguished legal scholar and former Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Children's Rights (Children's Ombudsman). She also previously served as Deputy Ombudsman for Human Rights, playing a crucial role in advocating for child rights, legal reforms, and human rights protection in Uzbekistan.
In addition to her work in human rights, Aliya Yunusova has extensive experience in religious affairs. From 1991 to 1993, she worked as a specialist at the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where she later became Chief Specialist.
During the discussion, she provided valuable insights and firsthand experiences on how young people can actively contribute to legal awareness, civic engagement, and human rights protection. She emphasized the importance of legal education, ethical responsibility, and youth participation in fostering a just and fair society.
