Human Brotherhood and Interreligious Dialogue - an International Perspective

The United Nations pays great attention to efforts aimed at enhancing interreligious and intercultural dialogue among religious leaders, ensuring the promotion of such initiatives globally. Particularly, on February 4, 2019, during a special Global Conference in Abu Dhabi, a document titled "Human Brotherhood: The Path to Peace and Coexistence" was signed between the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, Sheikh Ahmad el-Tayeb, and Pope Francis. This document was discussed at the UN General Assembly, and a special resolution was adopted, emphasizing the necessity of its separate endorsement.

In accordance with the resolution, every year on February 4th, "International Human Brotherhood Day" is declared. This date serves to highlight the widespread participation of scholars, religious leaders, and community activists in UN member states.
