Interfaith Friendship Journey

On February 6, 2025, the UNESCO Chair in Comparative Study of World Religions at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan successfully hosted the "Interfaith Friendship Journey" as part of The World Interfaith Harmony Week.

This guided excursion provided students with a unique opportunity to explore Uzbekistan’s rich religious diversity, visiting key places of worship such as the Russian Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, and other religious centers. Through meaningful interactions, participants gained firsthand insights into various spiritual traditions and engaged in interfaith dialogue to promote understanding and unity.

Event Highlights:
Visits to Religious Sites – Guided by experts, students learned about the history, architecture, and traditions of different faith communities.
Interfaith Discussions – Participants engaged in thoughtful conversations with religious leaders and community members, sharing perspectives on faith, coexistence, and peace.
Reflective Sessions – Through group discussions, students deepened their understanding of interfaith harmony and its importance in today’s world.

This initiative reinforced the values of openness, respect, and inclusivity, emphasizing Uzbekistan’s rich tradition of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence. By fostering education and dialogue, we continue to empower the next generation to build bridges, embrace diversity, and contribute to a more harmonious society.
