Department of Scientific Research, Innovations and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Specialists
The department of scientific research, innovations and training of scientific and pedagogical specialists at International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan was organized in order to ensure timely execution of the tasks set by the National Program for Personnel Training, Decrees of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Decrees of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Higher Education and fulfillment of the Commandments and Decisions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, as well as orders, resolutions and instructions of the rector of the Academy.
This department in accordance with the tasks set out in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on April 16, 2018 works on training highly qualified specialists in the directions of Quranic sciences, hadith, Islamic law, aqeedah, Sufism, foreign languages (Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Turk, etc.), theology and in the fields of other areas according to the international necessity.
In accordance with the list of specialties of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical specialists and adopted scientific specialties on the basis of the resolutions of the Committee of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy has established the institutes of basic doctorate (PhD), doctoral studies (DSc) and independent researchers and research activities have been organized.
Currently, at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan basic doctorate (PhD) and doctoral studies (DSc) were introduced as a Post-Graduate Education in the following fields:
24.00.01 – History and Source Study of Islam
24.00.02 – Qur’anic Studies, Hadith Studies
24.00.03 – Science of Fikh and Kalam. Theology
24.00.04 – Classic Oriental Literature and Source Studies
07.00.04 – Religious Studies.
Today, the total number of studying at the post-graduate education institute of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan consists of 59 people. Two of them are DScs, 30 are PhDs and 27 are independent researchers. All of the doctoral students and independent researchers’ scientific thesis and scientific supervisors have been approved. They have a tight relationship with the departments (Chairs) of “Classic Oriental Literature and Source Studies”, “Religious Studies and Comparative Study of World Religions UNESCO”, “Study of Islamic Civilization ISESCO”, “Islamic History and Source Studies” and “Sciences of Islam”. Moreover, they are working together with them based on their specialization and research topics.
In 2018, two Ph.D. researchers graduated. In 2017, three PhD researchers graduated. In 2018, one Ph.D. defended his dissertation. In 2016, one doctorate (DSc) and two Ph.D. researchers graduated. One doctoral candidate (DSc) defended his dissertation in 2017.
