RECTOR OF ACADEMY IS PARTICIPATING IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

As previously informed, a group of scientists led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Kamilov is on a working visit to the Bulgarian Islamic Academy in Russia.

Today Uzbek scientists have taken part in the II International Scientific-Practical Conference entitled “The sciences on Islamic Studies and Islamic Theology in the Modern Education System: Problems and perspective plans” are held on September 23-25 at the Bulgarian Islamic Academy. 

More than 30 influential state organizations and about 200 well-known scientists are presenting lectures on actual issues in international conference organized with the support of the Central Religious Board of Russian Muslims and its branch in the Republic of Tataristan, the Association of Scientific and Educational Theology (NOTA), the Foundation for Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education.

Muzaffar Kamilov, Rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan also participated in this conference in which discussing current theoretical and practical issues of the development of Islamic studies and Islamic theology in modern conditions. He spoke about on ensuring freedom of religion and conscience in our country, innovations and best practices in the field of religious education in his speech entitled “Peculiar features of reforms in the religious sphere in Uzbekistan (“Некоторые особенности реформ в религиозной сфере в Узбекистане”)”.   

In particular, the rector of the Academy focused on the development of national traditions and values in our country, in-depth study of the scientific heritage of our great ancestors, the education of young people as an educated, intellectually mature generation as a priority of state policy in his speech. He spoke about the reforms in the field of religion and enlightenment in the country in recent years, the activities of international research centers established at the initiative of the President. He also shared the achievements of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan in education and research, the unique experience of our country, in particular, the Academy in training young professionals. The speech of the rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan made a great impression on the participants of the conference, and proposals were made to further expand cooperation and hold regular joint scientific conferences.

It is noteworthy that the international conference also recognized the large-scale creative, scientific and educational research on the development of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan, to increase the attraction of tourists to ancient and sacred places.

In particular, practical suggestions on organizing visit of more than 90 muftis with the official cooperation between the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Fund for Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education of the Russian Federation have been supported by all participants.  Indeed, the growing interest in the study of Islamic knowledge on the basis of pilgrimage tourism, the understanding and study of the spiritual heritage of great scholars will undoubtedly contribute to the spread of science and enlightenment.
